Advances in Technology Have Brought Down the Cost of Burglar Alarms

Burglar alarms

Advances in the technology used to make them has brought down the price of burglar alarms conisderably.  It is now possible for the average home or small business owner to purchase affordable burglar alarms and install them.  Advances in wireless technology have made installation much easier, with no complicated wiring to run.  A typical burglar alarm conists of two main components - a central panel and door and windows sensors.  The central panel typically connects to the phone line in order to place a call when the alarm is tripped.

The door and window sensors send a signal to the central unit if a window or door is opened, and the central unit dials an alarm monitoring company (there is a small monthly charge for this service).  The door and windows sensors in a wireles system are easy to install since you do not have to run wires back to the central unit.   Many systems also include a motion detection sensor, so if someone manages to bypass the door and window sensors, the system will be triggered as they move about.  If you haven’t already done so, now might be the time to consider a burglar alarm for your home or small business.
