A stun gun is self-defense device that utilizes high voltage and low amperage electricity to disable an attacker for several minutes.  It is non-lethal but really gives a kick that will bring your attacker down.  The current will not pass to your body even when the attacker is touching you.  This is a great device to have especially if you live in places where your safety can be compromised.

Stun guns are great for personal security.  It is important to remember how they work.  People don’t normally get hurt when a stun gun is used.  However, it is normal when the thief is stuned to become stiff…just like a dead person.  This is due to the lactic acid that stiffens up a persons body from the electronic empulse.  The same lactic acid that is released when someone dies. 

However, when someone dies they normally are laying or sitting on the ground.  But this is not the case in being stunned by a stun gun.  Sure the body becomes rock hard but because they are standing and doing things they shouldn’t be doing.  The fall to the ground like a stiff board! Unable to catch themselves as they fall.  Bam! Goes the head and body….(personally I like to think of this a nice reminder for them when they do get up)

So its important NOT to stun friends because they do miss the cushion when they fall.  Please stand by to catch anyone you do this to….I’m speaking of friends.  Not the jerks.  

One other fair warning.  Drugs, alchol, and stun guns DON’T mix!  The mixure causes more severe mental dazzing…So don’t be like the idots on YouTube and get drunk and shock each other.  This is NOT a game.

Just got off the phone with a company that ordered a several Telescopic Stun Guns.  (Also known as Telescopic Stun Batons)They are giving them to each of thier drivers.  This way they can protect themselves due to them carrying cash in thier vehicles.  Not a bad idea.

These things work great.  When you extend the club part you have two effects. One is striking the thief.  The second is if he trys to grab the club to take it away from you.  Thats when he gets a shock and goes down.

 My best friend is a Home Health nurse in Austin, Texas.  She works all hours and in different types of neighborhoods.  More bad neighborhoods than good, so this being said, she gets a little nervous going to some of her patients homes.  I bought her the Electronic Pocket/Keychain Whistle HP-388, because it was small enough to put in her scrubs pocket and/or put on her keychain.  (I believe it’s like 4″ long)  You don’t have to worry about blowing a whistle or pulling a string.  I used to have the kind you pull the pin out of.  That was a headache, sometimes it would be pulled out accidentally and it took forever to put back in.  This Keychain Whistle is simple, you just push a button.  She told me she actually had to use the Keychain Whistle before and she said it sure did work.  The attacker was scared and took off imediately as soon as she pushed the button.   Check it out here at this really cool store for keychain whistles.

When your family is an issue, then the stakes are different.  Their protection is the direst thing of your existence and anything that you can do is something that you will do.  There are so many small steps that we can take to ensure that when the time comes, there is some preparation in the advent of crisis.
