Mace can protect you from an attacker

Mace

Mace is a brand of self-defense product that uses pepper spray to stop an attacker.   When sprayed in an attacker’s face, mace pepper sprays will cause intense burning of the eyes, causing them to slam shut, and uncontrollable coughing and choking.  The attacker will have difficulty breathing, and if they rub their eyes this only worsens the effect.  The idea behind mace is to temporarily disorient and disable your attacker so that you have time to run away, not to incapacitate them.  Mace is available in small easy to carry containers, some smalll enough to be carried on a keychain.

Mace uses a pepper spray that contains 10% OC (Oleoresin Capsicum) pepper.  This substance is an extreme irritant to the eyes and respiratory system.  One good thing about mace is that the effects are not permanent or lethal.  Mace is a good enough deterrent that many policemen carry it.  Mace is perfectly legal to own and use in most states (check local laws, some areas have restrictions on the types of mace that can be used).  Buy several different containers of mace and keep one in your home, your car, your purse and your pocket.  For more information about mace.

The Kubotan is a highly effective self-defense weapon

Kubotan

You may have never heard of a Kubotan.  Popular with martial artists, these small, highly effective weapons are easy to carry and conceal.  Shaped similar to a pencil, but made of metal, they can be used to strike an assailant in a number of vulnerable places.  Good targets inlcude the groin, stomach, solar plexis, throat, the arm, the shin, hip bone, collarbone, ankle, and kneecap.  A good strike with a kubotan to one of these places will make an attacker stop and think - a harder strike can actually break bones!

Kubotans are about 5 inches long and made of aluminum.  They are available with blunt or pointed ends.  They are also available in a variety of  colors.  Even if you don’t hit an attacker in one of the places mentioned above, if you just start jabbing chances are your attacker will find someone else to attack.  So why not buy a few today and keep them in handy places - hopefully you won’t need them but you’ll be glad you bought them if you do.  For more information on the kubotan.
