Protect your home or car with an infrared camera that sees in the dark

Infrared Camera

Advances in technology have brought the infrared camera into the price range of ordinary consumers.  Available in small packages and easy to install, most of these  units feature infrared LEDs around the lens to discreetly illuminate an area at night (you can’t see the output of the LEDs, but they allow the camera to see better in the infrared spectrum).  One unit, The Cyber Eye, has a number of unique features.  It features a movement sensor that snaps a picture when it detects movement by an intruder.  The picture is stored in non-volatile memory (it stays there even when the power is turned off) for later retrieval.

To view the images, you plug the unit into the video input of a TV or video monitor.  You can also set the unit to  take pictures at 1-60 second intervals, and it can store up to 680 images.  The camera comes with two remotes that have an emergency button that, when pressed, will take a picture instantly.  You can use one of these infrared cameras to detect intruders inside or outside your home or business, or mount one on the dash or back shelf of your car to catch thieves and vandals.
