Pepper spray effects last up to 40 minutes and cause no permanent damage. Pepper spray is rated at 1million heat units and made with a very fine grain which is more effective than the coarser grains. Pepper spray ring can be used without causing any permanent damage to the attacker. It is meant to be used at close range, about 2 feet. The ring can be refilled by replacing the canisters. Pepper spray is the most popular self-defense spray available today. Its cayenne pepper-derived chemical compound causes massive dilation of the capillaries in the pupils, and acute inflammation of the lining in the bronchial tubes of the respiratory system, making assailants go temporarily blind and find much difficulty breathing.
