Mace spray can buy you a little time if you’re attacked
Mace spray can be used to buy yourself enough time to run away and start screaming for help if you’re attacked. You can spray it in an attacker’s face before they get their hands on you (from up to 5 feet away) and it will keep your attacker occupied for a few minutes. Mace spray has the effects of causing the eyes to slam shut with an intense burning feeling and interfering with your attacker’s ability to breathe, causing choking. Mace spray is available in a wide variety of sizes and shapes, so there’s no reason not to have one handy no matter where you are.
You can get mace spray in the more traditional canister type container, in a baton-style shape, in a small size designed to fit on a keychain and in a gun-shaped container. You can even get mace spray concealed in a pair of walking weights for that late-night or early morning walk or jog. Owning and using mace spray is perfectly legal without restrictions in most states.
