Stunguns are very effective self-defense tools if you are ever involved in a threatening situation. The are like a line of last defense, something to use if you are actually being attacked. You must make personal contact with your attacer with the stungun in order to stun them. Stunguns work by delivering a high voltage charge to your attacker. This charge can range from 80,000 to 200,000 volts. This high voltage charge interferes with you attackers nervous system, causing uncontrollable spasms and incapacitating them.
You can buy stun guns in a variety of shapes and sizes. They range in price from $20 - $100 dollars — not that much to invest in your personal security. All stunguns are designed to be held in one hand for use, with some type of trigger mechansim. Stunguns range in size from a small 4.5″ model, to a telescoping baton that reaches out to 21.5″.
