The TeleSpy Intruder Alarm - A unique home security system

The TeleSpy Intruder Alarm
Let’s look today at a truly unique home security system, the TeleSpy Intruder Alarm from americansecuritywarehouse.com.  The TeleSpy combines a slimline telephone, motion sensor and microphone, all in a unit that looks like an ordinary slimline telephone.  Here’s how it works:The motion sensor in the TeleSpy monitors the room for motion.  If motion is detected, the unit dials the preprogrammed number that you have defined and activates the microphone, allowing you to listen in on what’s going on in the room.  If you decide that an intruder has been detected, you can dial 911 and report a break-in.  The unit listens for about 30 seconds, then the TeleSpy disconnects and re-arms itself to detect again.

The telephone that houses this home security system is the same as any slimline telephone found in millions of homes.  Anyone using the phone would not notice that it also contains a home security system.  No installation is required, and the unit is fully portable - it can be moved from room to room just like any other phone.  All you do is connect the phone to the phone line and plug in the power adapter.  Without the power adapter the unit still functions as a normal touch-tone phone, but without the TeleSpy features.

The motion sensor used in the TeleSpy home security system is a PIR (Passive Infrared Radiation) model, which works by detecting changes in heat in the room.  It detects an intruder by sensing their body heat.  The range is in excess of 30 feet.  At a distance of 30 feet the width is about 20 feet, which provides about a 45 degree wedge of detection.

How the TeleSpy works
The concealed condenser microphone in the unit is strategically placed for the best audio quality.  It is very sensitive and amplified, allowing you to hear the slightest noise in the room.  It is only active after the motion detector has been triggered and the phone number dialed. The unit features a “Test” function to allow you to place the TeleSpy in the best location and to test the sensitivity of the unit.  With the Test function turned on, you can move about in the room, and a the green Test LED will light when motion is detected.  It will wait the 30 seconds of listening time, then the LED will turn off and re-arm for testing.  By experimenting with different locations, you can determine the optimum location for detecting an intruder.  Think about where they would enter your home and aim the system near that point.

The TeleSpy home security system can get along with pets in the house, too.  The unit is factory set to trigger on about a 40 pound child (5-year old) or animal.  You can use the Test function to experiment with the best placement so that your pet doesn’t trigger the motion sensor.  And if you have a smaller pet, their won’t be any problem at all with placement.

The TeleSpy home security system is ideal for smaller homes and apartments.  Many apartments only have one entrance, so aiming the TeleSpy at the entrance gives you complete protection.  And if you need to cover more than one room or entrance, more than one TeleSpy unit can be used - only the unit that is triggered first will dial the phone and allow you to listen in.

We highly recommend this product because of it’s unique capabilities, its ease of installation and it’s low cost.  For more details about the TeleSpy Intruder Alarm and information on pricing and where to purchase, see the following link: The TeleSpy Intruder Alarm
